TATA SAFARI is an Indian Legendary Car.

 Tata Safari is a popular and luxury car of India. Tata Safari has been produced by Tata Company since 1998. Tata launched its first generation with 7 seats. It is a mid size sport utility vehicle. Tata Safari started making waves in the Indian market after its launch and its sales boosted the sales of Tata company. The first generation Safari was launched with a single powertrain which was a 2.0 liter turbo charged diesel engine.

The first generation Safari was launched with a single powertrain which was a 2.0 liter turbo charged diesel engine. The starting price of which started from Rs 8.95 lakh ex-showroom. its massive proportions and manly looks made it a hit as soon as it was launched.

Safari gave tough competition to the vehicles of its segment due to which Safari became a status symbol for the young generation. The cars coming in competition with Safari were much more expensive than this one, hence Safari became the desired car of the people.

From the time Safari was launched till 2005 i.e. from 1998 to 2003, Tata did not make any changes in the first generation of Safari. Until 2003, the Safari continued to be sold in its first generation. After this, for the first time in the year 2003, Tata upgraded the engine of Safari from 2 liter to 2.1 liter with 135 hp.

In 2003, when Mahindra company launched its Scorpio to compete with Safari, the popularity of Safari started declining. Scorpio was cheaper and offered more features than Safari. Because of which Tata considered it necessary to update Safari.

In the year 2005, Tata gave an update to Safari in which Tata launched the updated model of Safari, Safari DiCor. Which started giving more power and more features than the old Safari. The Safari Dicor was powered by a 3 liter turbocharged engine which generated 116 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.

To compete with Mahindra Scorpio, Tata launched Safari Dicor at the same price as Scorpio at Rs 6.40 lakh. Then Tata gave a facelift to the Safari Dicor in 2007 in which Tata made a lot of changes to the Safari with new interiors, new headlamps, new front grille, etc. Along with this, Tata did complete work on safety in Safari. To increase the safety of Tata Safari, it includes dual airbags for driver and co-driver, electronic brake disturbance and anti-lock brake system.

Between 2007 and 2012, Tata launched another new Safari in the market with a new engine, a 2.2 liter engine producing 140 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque.

In the year 2012, Tata gave the biggest gift to the Safari brand in the name of Safari Storm presented in the 11th Auto Expo. Safari Storm came with a very sporty look due to which once again the competition between Scorpio and Safari increased. . With the Safari Storme the Safari brand got another new engine which was known as Varicor. This engine was 2.2 liter and produced power of 150 hp and 320Nm torque.

In the year 2015, this engine got another update in which this engine generates 156 Bhp and 400 Nm torque. This engine was named Varicor 400.

Tata launched Safari Storme in both 4WD and 2WD variants.

 A variant of the Safari is the GS800 which is manufactured by Tata for the Indian Army. This variant is bullet proof and generates 800 torques.

In the year 2019, when Indian Government launched BS6 standards in India, Tata discontinued Safari. After this, in the year 2020 Auto Expo, Tata showcased a vehicle named Gravitas, later at the time of its launch, Tata changed the name of Gravitas to Safari.

Today Tata Safari offers more safety, more luxury and comfort than other vehicles of its competition. Due to which Safari has made a splash in the 7 seater segment in 2024.
