Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Bhupendra Kumar Jayswal, Indian international cricket player was born on December 28, 2001, and represents his country in all three forms. In July 2023, he made his debut for his country in the first Test match against the West Indies, where he scored a century in his maiden innings. He represents the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and Mumbai in domestic cricket.

When Jaiswal, a left-handed opening batsman, struck double hundreds in two straight Test matches against England in a five-match Test series in 2024, he attracted special notice. After Virat Kohli and Vinod Kambli, he is the third Indian batsman to accomplish the record. After Vinod Kambli and Sir Don Bradman, Yashasvi is the third-youngest cricketer in Test history to record two double hundreds. He tied Wasim Akram's record for the most sixes (12) a cricket player has scored in a test innings throughout the same series. Additionally, he scored 700 runs in a Test series, making him just the second Indian to do so after Sunil Gavaskar.

He was a member of the Indian team that placed first in the 2022 Asian Games in 2023 and made it to the finals of the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he scored the most runs and was named Player of the Tournament. Additionally, he played as a standby for the Indian team, who placed second in the 2023 ICC World Test Championship final. Childhood 

The youngest of four children, Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on December 28, 2001, in Suriyawan, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, to homemaker Kanchan Jaiswal and small-business owner Bhupendra Jaiswal. He has two older sisters and an older brother. He relocated to Mumbai when he was eleven years old in order to practice for cricket at Azad Maidan. He was first housed at a dairy business in exchange for labor, but the proprietor kicked him out since his practice schedule prevented him from working regularly. He thus lived in a tent in the Maidan alongside the groundskeepers, earning a living by selling panipuri.

After three years of living in tents, Jwala Singh, who operated a cricket academy in Santacruz, saw Jaiswal's cricketing talent in December 2013. Prior to becoming Jaiswal's legal guardian and acquiring his power of attorney, he gave him a place to reside.

Carrier & Achievements.

Jaiswal initially gained notoriety in 2015 when he set an all-around record in Indian school cricket by scoring 319 not out and taking 13/99 in a Giles Shield match. He was chosen for both the India national under-19 cricket team and the Mumbai under-16 team. At the 2018 Under-19 Asia Cup, which India won, he made 318 runs and was named player of the tournament.

In a 2019 Youth Test match against the South African under-19s, Jaiswal made 173 runs off of 220 balls. In the English under-19 tri-series later that year, he amassed 294 runs in seven games, including four half-centuries. He was included in India's 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup team in December 2019. In the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Jaiswal led the field in runs scored and won Player of the Tournament, which included a century against Pakistan in the semifinals.

Jaiswal made his first-class debut for Mumbai on January 7, 2019, in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, and on September 28, 2019, in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he made his List A debut. At 17 years, 292 days, he became the youngest double century in List A cricket history on October 16, 2019, when he hit 203 runs off 154 balls in a match against Jharkhand for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 564 runs at a batting average of 112.80 in six matches, including 17 fours and 12 sixes in his innings. He was among the competition's top five run scorers. He was included in the India B team for the Deodhar Trophy in 2019-20.

Jaiswal was called up to the Indian Test team for the first time in June 2023 for the series against the West Indies. In his debut, he opened the batting with 171 runs and struck a century in the first Test of the series. In addition, he was named Player of the Match. In the third game of the T20I series against the West Indies in August 2023, he made his T20I debut. He shared an opening partnership of 165 runs with Shubman Gill in the fourth game of the series, including his first T20I half-century (84* off 51 balls).

DOUBLE CENTURY IN TEST CRICKET DEBUE 

He was included in India's side for the five-match Test series against England at home in January 2024. He scored 80 runs off just 74 balls in the first Test's first innings. He scored 209 runs off 290 balls in the first innings of the series' second game, marking his first double century. After Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar, he became the third-youngest Indian batsman to get a double hundred in Test cricket. After Virat Kohli and Vinod Kambli, Jaiswal became the third Indian batsman to reach double hundreds in back-to-back Test matches with another double century in the series' second game. In addition, he equaled the record for the most sixes in a Test innings with 12 during the innings.

The first player to hit 20 sixes in a series in Test history is Jaiswal. At the age of 22, he became the second Indian player to reach 500 runs in a Test series, after Sunil Gavaskar. Additionally, in a Test series against England, he amassed the highest run total by an Indian.

The International Cricket Council nominated him for the February 2024 ICC Men's Player of the Month Award. He was included in the Indian team for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in May of that year. He hit 161 runs in Australia.
He scored 391 runs at an average of 43.44, making him India's top run scorer in the BGT 2024–25.
Jaiswal made his ODI debut against England on February 6, 2025. With 22 balls, he scored 15 runs.

IPL Career. 

He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL auction, and on September 22, 2020, he made his Twenty20 cricket debut for the team. On October 2, 2021, he scored his first T20 half-century against the Chennai Super Kings, which at the time was the second-fastest in the team's history. On April 30, 2023, he scored 124 from 62 balls against the Mumbai Indians, which was the second-highest score in an IPL game at the Wankhede Stadium.

He broke the previous record, which was shared by Pat Cummins and KL Rahul, on May 11, 2023, when he struck the fastest Indian Premier League (IPL) half-century in just 13 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders. With 625 runs in 14 games, he was Rajasthan's top run scorer at the end of the 2023 Indian Premier League.

Jaiswal scored an undefeated 104 to help the Rajasthan Royals defeat the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season. The Royals fell to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the semi-final, but they finally advanced to the playoffs.
