TATA NEXON is the India's first Car to set safety standards.

Tata Motors, after a flop in the Indian car market, launched its first sub four meter car Tata Nexon in the year 2017. Nexon started ruling the hearts of Indian people as soon as it was launched. Nexon acted as a booster for Tata Motors sales.

Therefore, for the first time Nexon explained the importance of safety to the common people in India because before 2017, safety had no importance in India. For the first time, an Indian vehicle received a 5 star safety certification from the worldwide NCAP in 2017. Tata Motors caused a commotion in the Indian automobile industry as a result. Following the Nexon, Tata Motors introduced a five star safety rating for all of its new vehicles, including the Tata Tiago, Tata Punch, Tata Altroz, Tata Harrier, and the Tata Safari.

Nexon 2014

Tata Motors' sales Growth up with the launch of   Nexon, which became the industry leader with a 5   star rating. Since then, the company has continued to   hold the second and third spots in the rankings in     India. Indian carmaker Tata Motors has been     manufacturing the subcompact crossover SUV   known as the Nexon from 2017. It is the brand's first   crossover SUV and competes in India's sub-4 meter   crossover SUV market. At the 2014 Auto Expo, a prototype of the Nexon was unveiled. February 2016 saw the presentation of the finished model.

The Nexon is built on the updated Tata X1 platform, which made its début with the Indica model in 1998 and was later taken up by other automobiles bearing Indian brands. It has a rear twist-beam with a coil spring and shock absorber and an independent MacPherson dual-path strut with coil spring front suspensions. The wheelbase is 2,498 mm (98.3 in) in length. Large Chrome bands down the side and dual halogen headlights with projector low beams are its distinguishing features. It also has two tone paint.
The 1.2 L Revotron three-cylinder turbo 12-valve petrol engine, which produces 81 kW (109 hp,110 PS) and 170 N⋅m (125 lbf-ft) of maximum torque, is developed by Tata Motors and the Austrian engineering company AVL. It is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The 1.5 L Revotorq four-cylinder common rail 16-valve diesel engine produces 260 N⋅m (192 lbf-ft) of maximum torque and 81 kW (109 hp,110 PS). It is coupled to a six-speed manual or six-speed automated manual gearbox (AMT). Eight manual transmission variations of the Tata Nexon are available: XE, XM, XMS, XM+S, XZ+, XZ+ LUX, and XZ+LUXS (XZ & XZ(O).All of these outdated modules have been discontinued. There are three limited versions of the Nexon: Dark, Red Dark, and Kaziranga. The Nexon in AMT is available in all varieties except XE, which also contains an additional 'A' (XZA+, XMA). 2017 Launch Model

Under the terms of a joint venture agreement, production at the FCA India Ranjangaon factory began in July 2017, and sales in India followed in September of the same year. Tata Motors have not shipped the vehicle outside of India as of December 2018. Whether the vehicle would be shipped to Europe has also not been verified by the corporation. August 2018 saw the plant roll out the fifty thousandth Nexon.

One way to look at it is that Tata Motors used to sell about 3,000 to 4,000 cars annually, but once the Nexon was introduced, that number shot up to ten times. This demonstrates the Tata Nexon's sales success in the Indian market.

In August 2018, Global NCAP conducted the Nexon's maiden crash test. The vehicle received three stars for child occupant safety and four stars for adult occupant protection.
Tata made a seatbelt reminder for the front passenger a standard fitment for manufacturing starting on December 7, 2018, and supplied knee mapping data to have some fines eliminated. They then provided funding for a reevaluation that included a basic side impact test mandated by ECE Regulation 95 and an assessment of the additional seatbelt reminder in order to get the maximum five-star rating for adult protection.
The Nexon, which is comparable to the Latin NCAP 2013 vehicle model, was the first model released in India to receive the highest five-star rating for adult protection in the testing, which took place in December 2018. According to Global NCAP's updated evaluation criteria, the facelifted Nexon received five stars for both adult and child safety in 2024. It included more standard safety features like electronic stability control, side and curtain airbags, i Size compatibility, a three-point seatbelt in the rear center seat, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.
